Faith Leaders' Letter to Mark Zuckerberg

Our Interfaith Work Group and lead author Lucy Kidwell wrote a powerful letter to Mark Zuckerberg in opposition of Meta’s “Instagram for Kids” project, outlining the spiritual harms Instagram is having on children. While this letter was focused on Instagram, these concerns apply to other social media apps as well. This letter cites religious texts from multiple religions and was signed by over 75 faith leaders from different faith backgrounds. We are thrilled to report due to public pushback, including this letter, Meta paused its “Instagram for Kids” project. We hope the pause is permanent.
