Scope: This policy applies to the Children’s Screen Time Action Network (www.screentimenetwork.org).

Collection of Data:

The Action Network website collects information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns.  We use cookies to help us understand how visitors use CCFC’s websites, and to store visitors’ website access preferences.

For members who wish to join the Network, we collect the information laid out in the Membership Application, including (but not limited to) name, location, and organizational affiliation.

Use of Data:

Our purpose in collecting information about how visitors come to our website and what pages they visit while there is to better understand how visitors and members use the website and make improvements and changes.

Our purpose in collecting personal information about Network members is so that we can a) contact them about Network activities and b) publicize their Network membership as described below.

Disclosure of Data:

We do not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.

We may disclose your mailing address (but not e-mail address) to a third party for the sole purpose of printing mailings to send to our members.

Salsa Labs: CCFC contracts with Salsa Labs to store and maintain our database of Network members. Salsa Labs’ privacy policy can be found here. We do not contract with any third-party list-enhancing services, and will never instruct Salsa Labs to share your information with any third parties. We will not rent, sell, trade, or give the email addresses or contact information of our Network members to anyone else, unless we are required to do so by law.

Member Listing: We publicly list the individual and organizational members of the Action Network on this page. Listings include name, affiliation and relevant websites. Members may opt out of having their information listed using the steps outlined in “Choice and Access” below.

Usage Statistics: We may publish statistics about the use of our website in our marketing or other materials. (For example: “10,000 people have searched our resource bank.”) We only, however, do so in the aggregate and will not publicly display or otherwise share any personally identifiable information.

Choice and Access:

If you prefer not to be listed publicly on our Network membership page, please check the appropriate box when joining the Network. If you wish to have your name removed from our public listing, please email info@screentimenetwork.org
