Dr. Douglas Gentile is an award-winning research scientist, educator, author, and professor of developmental psychology at Iowa State University. He is the editor of Media Violence and Children, co-author of Violent Video Game Effects on Children and Adolescents: Theory, Research, and Public Policy, and head of the Media Research Lab at Iowa State. He was formerly the Director of Research for the National Institute on Media and the Family.
