This Washington Post column by Leonie Haimson, founder and Director of Class Size Matters, concerns the Summit Learning program used in more than 300 schools across the country. The program provoked a student walkout from the Secondary School of Journalism in November 2018 that made national news, and has faced protests by parents and many other districts. In the column, Ms. Haimson describes how Summit collects a huge amount of personal student data and shares it with as many as 19 corporate “partners” including the Chan-Zuckerberg Initiative.
