A survey of parents of children under age 12 reveals that parents think the widespread use of cell phones and social media makes parenting more challenging, even before COVID-19. Other findings: many parents worry about their children's screen time, they don't believe children under the age of 12 should have their own smartphones, they commonly use access to screens as a parenting tool, and they also struggle with their own screen time.
